bradleycole was engaged to design the lighting of recently landscaped gardens and a stand of native rainforest on a residential property in Byron Bay, NSW.

Landscape lighting should be both dramatic and functional, where the light source is discrete and what is lit is the star of the show.

The stand of natural rainforest offered a great opportunity to create scenes or vistas with a dynamic depth of field. At staggered depths from the house, dedicated uplighting was used on selected forest trees with adjacent down lighting on its lush large-leafed undergrowth. This created moments of luscious green rainforest highlighted in a blackened unknown, with an intriguing array of foreground silhouettes and other featured plots.
